Having appointed Guus Hiddink to lead the U21 team, the world's most populous country still faces many difficulties in developing football.

In an analysis of China’s prospects for attending the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, Sina newspaper assessed: `The domestic football industry is afraid of strong opponents.`

Since the 2008 Olympics held at home, China has not won the right to participate in men’s soccer at the Olympics.

The Chinese Football Association (CFA) has great determination in the 2020 Olympics. For the first time in history, they stopped the Super League midway because of the Olympic team.

CFA’s drastic action comes after Hiddink’s complaints about the current U21 team.

This result is highly appreciated by many experts.

The 2020 Asian U23 qualifiers will kick off in March 2019.

In addition to arranging the squad, according to Sina, Hiddink needs to `pay attention to the draw results of the U23 Asian qualifiers`.

China faces difficulties right from the qualifying round because AFC will rely on the results of the 2018 U23 Asian Finals to classify seeds.

Hiddink’s predecessor, coach Massimiliano Maddaloni, was heavily criticized for letting China stop in Asiad 2018 right from the 1/8 round.

Sina newspaper is worried about this situation.

The Super League ends in early November. The Chinese U23 team will be convened immediately after, aiming to have two warm-up matches this month.
