President of Hanoi: Completely handle slow implementation projects before December 31 5

Hanoi City Chairman Tran Sy Thanh said the city has handled 419 delayed projects, and the remaining 293 projects will be resolved before December 31.

On the afternoon of July 5, at the question session of the 12th session of the Hanoi People’s Council, Mr. Tran Sy Thanh spent about 30 minutes at the end of the session to inform about the socio-economic situation of the first 6 months of the year and answer questions.

Hanoi has about 10 million people and a huge workload, but according to Mr. Thanh, the payroll is no different from other provinces, with only one additional vice president.

Each project file takes 2-3 days to read and requires about 5,000 staff members to participate in reading it to advise leaders on solutions.

`Sometimes I don’t understand how you have to work to complete such a huge amount of work,` Mr. Thanh said, hoping voters would share because despite the efforts of the state apparatus, there are still certain inadequacies.

To solve the problems, the City Chairman promised `each officer works two or three times to build a more civilized capital.`

Chairman of Hanoi People’s Committee Tran Sy Thanh spoke at the interview session of the City People’s Council, on the afternoon of July 5.

Regarding delegate Pham Dinh Doan’s question about the results of the 2021 administrative reform index, Hanoi ranked 58/63 provinces and cities, Mr. Thanh said he felt `embarrassed` with the rankings.

The Department of Information and Communications was assigned to focus on completing the Data Center to soon put it into operation;

With administrative reform, according to Mr. Thanh, after reviewing about 1,900 procedures, the city has authorized 617, reaching 37%.

Also according to Mr. Thanh, Hanoi leads the country in supporting citizens when participating in online public services and digital transformation.

The 12th session of the Hanoi People’s Council is expected to be held for 4 days (until July 6) to consider and approve 43 contents, including 21 reports and 22 resolutions.

Delegates will also re-question the implementation of commitments and promises at previous meetings and question the issues of administrative reform, e-government building, and digital transformation in state agencies in the city.
