Two artists refused to join the Executive Committee of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association 1
The 8th National Congress of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association took place on December 15 and 16, 2014. The Congress, with the participation of 440 delegates, elected the Association’s Executive Committee for the 2014 term –
Artist Thanh Chuong.
Artist Thanh Chuong gave two reasons why he decided to leave the Association’s Executive Committee: `First, according to Central regulations, heads of cultural and arts associations cannot be president of the association for more than two terms.
According to Thanh Chuong, the leader has an important task, being the one who steers the Association’s boat.

Responding to the views of the two artists, Mr. Tran Khanh Chuong – Chairman of the Vietnam Fine Arts Association – said: `First of all, I must say that the election of the Association’s Executive Committee is based on the votes of the members.
