Hanoi will adjust the exam schedule for grade 10 3

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training affirmed that it will adjust the 10th grade exam schedule to ensure students' rights after the Covid-19 prevention break.

After the Hanoi People’s Committee approved the 10th grade admission plan for the 2020-2021 school year, stating that the exam is expected to be held on June 1-2, many parents and students expressed concern.

On the afternoon of February 20, Mr. Pham Quoc Toan, Head of the Examination Management and Education Quality Accreditation Department, Hanoi Department of Education and Training, explained that based on the school year’s time planning framework, the new City People’s Committee expected

`If necessary, the specific exam time will be adjusted to ensure the best interests of students,` Mr. Toan said.

Mr. Toan informed that after the Ministry of Education and Training issued a written decision to adjust the time frame for the 2019-2020 school year because students are on leave to avoid Covid-19, the Hanoi Department of Education and Training will participate.

The Hanoi Department of Education and Training will develop a plan to organize the 10th grade entrance exam according to the progressive principle, ensuring students have time to review and rest after the end of the school year and before entering the semester.

According to the 10th grade admission plan for the 2020-2021 school year approved by the Hanoi People’s Committee on February 18, it is expected that on June 1, candidates will take the Literature test and the Math test in the afternoon, each subject lasting 120 minutes.

Students taking the specialized exam of four specialized high schools in Hanoi – Amsterdam, Nguyen Hue, Chu Van An and Son Tay, take three subjects: Literature, Mathematics and Foreign Language, then do not take the fourth subject but take the vocabulary test.

In the 2019-2020 school year, Hanoi is expected to have 107,240 students graduating from secondary school, an increase of 6,600 students compared to the previous year.

Vocational education centers – continuing education recruit about 8,000, vocational schools recruit 8,400 students.
