USA Protesters took to the streets to protest the decision not to prosecute the police officers involved in the death of a black nurse.

Kentucky Attorney General Daniel Cameron announced the jury’s conclusion on September 23, saying that the two white police officers who opened fire into the apartment of black nurse Breonna Taylor on March 13 will not be prosecuted for murder.

A protester fled from the police force of Louisville, Kentucky, after being arrested on Market Street on September 23 during a protest against the jury’s decision in the Breonna Taylor case.

Officers Jonathan Mattingly and Myles Cosgrove returned fire in self-defense after Taylor’s boyfriend opened fire, wounding Mattingly in the thigh.

Taylor, 26, was killed in front of her armed boyfriend in the middle of the night, after three officers entered her home, armed with a search warrant.

There is `no evidence` that Hankison hit Taylor, Cameron said.

The decision announced by Cameron angered civil rights activists, accusing them of a `violation of justice`.

Protesters immediately took to the streets chanting: `No life is worth it until Black lives matter`, marching for hours throughout the streets of Louisville, Kentucky’s largest city, amid the incident.

Angelo Pinto wore a black mask with the word `Breonna Taylor` on it as he and others marched through the streets of Louisville, Kentucky, where a 72-hour curfew began at 9 p.m.

`No justice, no peace,` protesters chanted.

The protests were relatively peaceful, lasting from dawn to dusk, until a gunshot rang out, causing the crowd to rush for cover.

The US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) office in Louisville immediately deployed a task force to support the city police.

`We understand that we cannot use violence to fight violence. Think about the two police officers and their families tonight. So I ask everyone to go home now,` said Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear.
