Real - Chelsea: When Lampard chooses the lower option 1

SpainChelsea is currently not in good form, but with their confrontation history and defensive style, Frank Lampard and his team can still make it difficult for Real in the quarterfinals of the first leg of the Champions League today.

This is the third consecutive year Chelsea and Real have faced off in the Champions League knock-out round.

Mason Mount (No. 19) scored the opening goal in Chelsea’s 3-2 win over Real in the Champions League quarterfinals second leg at the Bernabeu last season.

Chelsea can be considered a dirty opponent for Real.

In addition, Chelsea only lost once in nine away matches against Spanish clubs in the European Cup.

This fateful match is also notable for the reunion between the two coaches – Ancelotti and Frank Lampard.

Ancelotti has many advantages in the battle of wits with Lampard.

But Lampard is no longer as inexperienced as when he started his coaching career in 2018 and then led Chelsea a year later.

The club’s legendary status helps Lampard have a greater voice and he uses that by recalling a part of Chelsea’s history – the 2011-2012 Champions League victory.

`Part of winning the championship in 2012 was that we died against Barca at Camp Nou in the semi-finals and waited for the opportunity. But we have great desire, great personality and the level of the whole team that has been striving for many years to win.

Eden Hazard and Antonio Rudiger also attracted attention when meeting the club that helped them become famous.

Benzema’s return can play a decisive role in Real’s success or failure in this match.

Chelsea is missing Armando Broja and Cesar Azpilicueta.
